Songbirds

A quiet sunrise, a peaceful sound
A Celtic hoard lay on the ground
Before the death their hands will bring
They hear the sound of a songbird sing
Priest and nun, saint and Hun
Will hear the same before the sun
We brave the storm, cross the seas
All mankind through centuries
Love to hear the songbirds sing

I Wonder

I wonder what she' doing now?
Is her life  mundane?
What could she be feeling now?
Peaceful, without pain?
Maybe she's forgotten now?
It might help her move on
Who knows how we're feeling now?
Our conversation's gone
It may seem like I'm crazy now
I'm  speaking every day
Talking to the ceiling now
Wondering what she'd say.

More

listening to a death knoll we said goodbye
While memories swirled around us
How we floated in euphoria
But now we float a different way
Sights,sounds and feelings
No passion seems real
Time is supposed to heal it
But it also brings a void
Please time, hurry!
I'm waiting, hurting

Time answered;

I am not just the author of ends
Beginnings are also in my power
All present joy arrives through me
This I can promise
There will be more..

An Empty Chest

All a man is depends on his heart
Alone it will wither and die
He's got to be free to give it.
Its a fearful thing when he starts

If it's not good enough to receive
A heart gets bitter and cold
It's better to try than be lonely
Someone is sure to believe.

Thats why I've been standing
Holding my heart in my hand
My empty chest comprehending
We're doing the best we can

There's a million ways for a heart to tear
Why even use it at all?
Players will try to deceive it
The pain is too much to bear.

How many times have tears been cried
Regret can kill a man's soul
Still beats a life empty handed
Living alone with your pride

That's why I've been standing
Holding my heart in my hand
My empty chest comprehending
We're doing the best we can

Wild flowers

Of all the flora to admire
You can't beat weeds and wild flowers.
A Thistle's beauty's all its own
Never picky bout where they're grown.
sprinkle, feed? just leave them be
They just show up needlessly
Mountain meadows never sown
Rival any garden grown
Rocks, storms? they will display
Can't knock em down, their beauty stays
My spoiled plants with endless needs
I wish we all could be like weeds.

What if?

What if everything's OK?
God is happy how we are
And loves it when we play
What if joy's the only truth?
Who can take offense
While dancing as a youth.
What if?

The Wait

Comfort can be found in the quiet
All is well.
Serenity gleans peace to store
in my soul.
The voice of anxiety releases
its tight grip.
Love speaks in the silence.
With no plan
But strength can be built
in the wait
This treasure from life will be spent
 with joy.
Fretting and worry aren't always
so bad
Since they are partners with love
