Inside the Shell

I look at art
And feel the  passion
A poem always in my chest
I hold them close
They must be rationed
My every thought
Must be addressed

A void I fear
Dissolves my passions
Its best to hide so I can feel
This shell protects
My soul from crashing
Yet there's so much
To be revealed

Shelter this heart
when it is breaking
Ease this mind
and its fears
Hold this hand
while it is shaking
When I cry
Will there be tears?
