Tousled

I stood behind you on the balcony
and looked at the mountains
through your wind swept hair
The view was beautiful

We walked on the beach
The wind tossed your hair
Like the waves on the sea
The world became ours

The light through the trees
Play on the loose strand of hair
That fell over your eye
And you are lovely

You certainly look elegant
With your hair done up
It weakens my knees
My heart is proud

As you rest on a pillow
I lose every care in the world
Through your tousled hair
Life becomes good

When Two Find Us

I laughed at absurdities
While we were strangers
You smiled knowingly

When I hear your voice
It is a familiar song
How do we know each other?

Within our hearts we know
Two are actually one

Our eyes search the room
Stirring our souls when they meet
What is the source of knowing?

Is it endowed by God?
Are we adrift in an ocean
And meet by chance?
Is this an ancient gift
From another life?
It is rare and precious
What does it require?

It stirs a yearning inside
Beyond circumstances
Outside of time
This open door
Connects our souls
And two find us
