You woke up an artist in me
Once imprisoned now free
Poems and prose our children
We dote on and tuck into bed
Some call us a failure
But we failed with open eyes
For a moment
Rejecting a passive life
Questioning our sanity.
But here we are.
You woke up an artist in me
Once imprisoned now free
Poems and prose our children
We dote on and tuck into bed
Some call us a failure
But we failed with open eyes
For a moment
Rejecting a passive life
Questioning our sanity.
But here we are.
During my youthful journey
Words in a journal to helped me
My innermost feelings were read
Then somebody lost what I said
Lost the friend... in those pages again
Our feelings and how we strive
Shouldn't be buried alive
The struggles a loved one bears
Is a treasure to one who cares
Locked within... until time ends..
In the depths of my soul
Lies a buried treasure
Reaching, yearning, longing.
Satisfaction evades me
But for faint glimpses revealed
This man reaches for a handhold
Outside I have become indifferent, superfluous
A single passion displaces loss... rage
I will find a way to reveal his depths
With thankfulness and enjoyment
And share the prize with others.
