How I try to be unique

I hear my mother in my heart

And my father when I speak

Complaining's not our forte

But our hands are grasping air

We reach for satisfaction 

To find it isn't there 

We try to be the person

In other people's brains 

But Who can satisfy it?

We all want off that train

Hearts were made for love

And time is running fast

We want to use it all

And also make it last

Choices can be hard

Reality the same

It doesn't make it false

No one is to blame

Cutting off what hurts

keeping what's been earned

Doesn't end a thing

As long as we have learned

Love always endures

Will never be dismissed 

We just travel on

The other person missed

Everyone sees that look in her eyes

A faraway thought is there

With every pause life brings

Her eyes look away and stare

Could it be me in those dreamy eyes?

I don't have to dream alone
