It's desperate to know about love
I've searched till I lost my mind
The answers stayed out of reach
I'd ask the man on the mountain
But since he is always alone
How could he know?
Man in all his knowledge
Has no idea.
It can't be an emotion
Since it has both delight and pain
It can't be a passion
Since it always does what's best
It can't be logical
Because no one can figure it out
It can't be an instinct
We abandon all security for it
It can't be obligation
We could make a contract with anyone
These are things it cannot be
It is very stubborn
It is inconsiderate
It is untimely
And it tempts us to lie
How can love be the greatest experience?
Maybe I am asking the wrong question
Can love be true?
Love transcends all reason
It is higher than passion
Far above emotion and logic
Beyond true and false
It is tied to our very existence
Why am I here?
Am I in love?
The questions are similar
We are to love our neighbors
Respecting their existence
But there is that one in a million
Who shares a single existence
Mirrored images
Beyond any relationship
Both are amazed by it
There exists no doubt once discovered
The question is what to do with it.
Here is what love says:
When you are happy
Know I am pleased
When you are sad
Know that I care
When you celebrate
Tip one for me
You are never alone
Now that you know
My door is always open
And so is my heart.
