Night and Day

The bright sun slipped in and out of hiding
Behind racing clouds, its movement unnoticed
Day spent, the master of time looked tired
Yet he scattered his rays making a beautiful show
Giving evening spark to romantic dreams.

In his absence the world will draw closer
Huddled together unseen yet very much alive
Using senses that remain with no need of light
A slow world of repose patiently waits for dawn
Silence fills the void as though connected to the darkness
Creation holds its breath, knowing the sun will be faithful

A flash, ever so slight excites the songbirds
The sun reaches across the sky with glowing fingers
Pulling himself upward while spilling brilliant colors.
From this start, life skips merrily on its way
His warmth and light delighting the senses
While in the distance, others wait for his glorious return

Thoughts

You cross my mind
A flash of light
Traveling through my thoughts

Every beam of light
Gives me pleasure
As they Dance with my wishes

I know you sent them
And it makes me smile
So I send thoughts to you.

Love and Hate

As a kid I saw injustice
Domestic violence
It wasn't mother's tears
But the lack of them
That caused my soul to rage
Her love was offered like a dove
He broke its neck
But the cycle was broken
Things change over time
I have to lay aside the hatred
Lest it consume me
And avoid things that remind
Lest the demand for justice
Destroyes love in everyone's lives

I also found a love for someone
That goes to the core of my being
I thought what was in my hand
Had been rejected
My soul raged because it cut so deep
But I had been misinformed
And so this love began to consume me
I had to lay it aside
While many things remind me of her
I must focus on the good
There is so much love to give others
God forbid this demand for justice
destroy love in everyone's lives
Strange how hatred and love
Can be so similar.

When things cut deep into a soul
It is impossible to forget
We can only lay it aside
for a time
Calm the raging voice
Chose to give love
And do what is best

Masterpiece

It comes as a feeling
Starting in your chest
You look at the mountains
Take a deep breath
An inspiration
grips your heart
Everything's clear
Bringing a tear
Impressing your soul

It's what we live for
We're passionate beings
Look past the illusion
What's your heart seeing?

Let the music keep playing
Let the image give awe
Rhythms are beating
We're a part of it all
This word is our gallery
We make the art
A great masterpiece
Meet the artiste
Alive in your heart.

I'm not Plain

I'm not plain
I'm not old
But I am me
There is a crying boy
A mischievous son
There's a tough man
Who loves freedom
There's a faithful parishioner
A courteous prude
There's a boisterous brute
Who can be very rude
There's a dreamy poet
With tender care
There's an indifferent Slav
Who is hard to bear
There's a diligent worker
And a lazy bum
There's a boring guy
And one who is fun
The ultimate lover
So Considerate
A loser too
Who don't give a shit
Such a comfort
To snuggle up with
A scary guy
From the abyss
There's a scholar
A serious study
The class clown
Who is very funny
Add them all up
And shuffle them around
There's a real guy there
Few have found
I'm not plain
And I'm not old
But I am me

He Said, She Said

She said the words, I love you
He said those words again
No words were more sincere
Proclaimed upon the wind

Her voice was filled with sweetness
She bared her inner soul
He trembled with emotion
The greatest gift they'll ever own

And hope will rise above the tide
The winds of time are sure to blow
They won't care how dark the storm is
Their hearts will cling to what they know

He said the words, I love you
She said those words again
It shields their hearts in every loss
And holds them firm until the end

That's What Happens

We lose our grip on reality
Yet we find it for the first time

Our desires go awry
Yet we finally find their source

It starts out in confusion
But ends in clarity

That's what happens
When two people fall in love.

It's a pleasurable pain
A grieving euphoria

Our bodies are affected
And our hearts race on their own

When it's not satisfied
Butterfly's become ulcers

That's what happens
When two people fall in love
