It's Just There

Love is a gift for someone in need
It's a strong tower for those who will flee
It may be a flower to soften a tryst
Turn into actions according to lists

Love is foolish to those who withdraw
A soothing answer to a desperate call
It may be a crutch for the cripple to lean
Turn into hope for those who will dream

Love is a pursuit from anxiety
It is cute, superficially
It may be a burden when in want
Turn into a prize for those who flaunt

Love is a reaction from nature
It is a hormone mixture
It may cause memories to lapse
Become an addiction like crack

Love is defined in so many ways
Every feeling we wish to stay
We try to describe it with words
But all our attempts are absurd

What keeps a person fixed in a mind?
Can it be nurtured, does it decline?
This strong connection that two souls share
Cannot be ascribed, it's just... there.
